1.        Applications:

 

For all types of cutting, blanking, stamping and punching tools up to 12 mm sheet thickness, longitudinal and circular shear blades for plastic, paper and metal, bending and pressing tools, pressure hobs, cold upsetting dies, large and fine blanking dies, trimming dies, thread rolling dies, cold forming dies and rolls, coining dies and calipers, precision tools, gauges and measuring tools, master hobs for cold hobing, corrugating rolls, cold pilger mandrels, embossing dies, industrial

knives and slitters, tablet compression tools, moulds and components for plastic injection moulding, chipper knives, cold swaging dies, cold extrusion, heading and drawing punches, woodworking tools.

3.        Mechanical properties:  

General purpose air hardening medium alloyed cold work tool steel with optimum combination of toughness and wear resistance, high through hardenability, low distortion and high safety in heat teatment, high resistance to softening, high dimensional stability, easy to machine, excellent compressive strength. 1.2363 is used for tools where high carbon and high chromium steels are too brittle.
